Why I love this Essential Oil for Skin Care Face Serum Recipe
This Essential Oil Face Serum was one of the first DIY projects I did when learning how to use my Premium Essential Oil Kit from Young Living. I am so thankful I did.
One friend was just talking about how she bought a face serum from the department store. I will not name names but, she paid almost what I paid for my Premium Kit for just a little container of serum.
And what else other than reducing the look of wrinkles can that container do? Not one darn thing.
Girlfriend, I can diffuse beautiful smells, clean laundry and bake lemon cookies with what I got in my box. (more on those three in other posts here on my blog) Plus do all the amazing skin stuff I talked about above.
Hello, reducing the look of fine lines!! I'm seriously not ready to look old or my age.
So my frugal mind says, why buy a one-use container? When you can get a whole kit that has a ton of other uses and cost just about the same price. No brainer sister.
How I use the Essential Oil for beginners Face Serum Recipe
I apply this serum every night after I wash my face. I like to concentrate on any trouble spots.
- Lightly shake the dropper bottle of essential oil face serum
- Place about a dime to a nickel size amount in the palm of your hand and apply to face and neck.
I'd say the 2 oz bottle last me 3-4 months. Feel free to also use this on your hands and feet too!
Did you know there are 3 common mistakes you can make when creating a face oil that will make your face serum not work? I wonder if you are doing any of these face serum mistakes like I was.
So now you want the DIY All Natural Essential Oil Face Serum recipe that rocked my world?
Instructions for making the Essential Oil Face Serum Recipe
I mixed and stored my Essential Oil Face Serum in a 2 oz dropper bottle. It makes getting just the right amount out easy.
- Place all essential oils listed in the recipe in the below picture in the clean dropper bottle first.
- Add carrier oil of your choice to just below the neck of the bottle. This will leave room for the dropper to be added and there to be no overflow of oil.
- Shake lightly to mix the oils.

Now, that I've given you this fantastic easy to make Essential oil face serum recipe. Are you excited to give it a try?
I love that this recipe will allow you to make one simple change in your beauty routine that will have a huge impact on your skin.
How exciting is that?
Where to buy supplies for the Essential Oil Face Serum Recipe
My question now is, do you have the supplies that you need? To make this serum a reality in your life. If not, I'd love to help you gather those supplies together and make this happen!
I have only made this essential oil face serum recipe with YL essential oils which can be found in the premium starter kit. I can not say how other brands will work or not work. My suggestion is to go with Young Living because they have a seed to seal guarantee that all their oils are held up to.
Already own your oils but need the other supplies- Check out below what I use-
Love these dropper bottles! I make so many different Essential Oil items for my family that I can run through my stash of bottles pretty quickly at times!
As far as carrier oils I think these two are great options-
Jojoba oil - This is a great oil for acne-prone skin.
Grapeseed oil- Fast absorbing and for combination skin
First step to getting you all set up with Essential Oils -
Let's gets talking about the three oils. You can buy them separately, or if you are like me and want to save a whole lot of money, you can buy a Young Living Premium Starter kit like the one pictured below!
All three oils in the Essential Oil Face Serum Recipe; Lemon, Lavender, and Frankincense, come in the Young Living Premium Starter kit. The Premium Starter Kit also comes with 8 other awesome oils and a diffuser of your choice will run you around $165 depending on which diffuser, where you live (tax) and the shipping you select.
Now hold on...
I know that $165 is a bit of shocker for some of you, I get it.
But have you priced face serums lately?
I have, and they run anywhere from $69- $90 for 1 oz.
Like I said earlier, I'd rather invest my money in buying a product that allows me to easily create multiple nontoxic items to support my healthy lifestyle than buying a one-time 1 oz bottle.
Want a couple other beauty ideas to use these oils on.
How about your eyelashes?
Every woman dreams about long beautiful eyelashes, well Lavender is great for eyelash growth support.
I could give you dozens of kit oil uses just for your beauty routine alone, and guess what, I will! When you purchase the Young Living Premium Starter Kit from me, I will send you an E-recipe book with over 100 Essential Oil recipes from beauty, cleaning your home to daily wellness. Hi Yvonne! I'm not a Dr. so I really can't recommend a good moisturizer for Rosacea. But I can tell you that I really love the Young Living Rose ointment and ART Intensive Moisturizer for my face and trouble spots. Have you given those a try? Ruth

Hey this is Jessica. Can you store the face serum in a plastic bottle or does it have to be in a glass bottle.

Hi Jessica, Great question! With the amount of oil this recipe calls for, I would stick with a glass bottle. Essential oils are highly concentrated and can break down plastic containers so glass is the safest option.

I would store your face serum in a glass bottle. the concentration of oils can be high enough depending on the recipe to break down the plastic in a plastic bottle.
